Arizona has used ‘howdy’ as a greeting for a long time

In regard to Howard Fischer’s article on lawmaker Kevin Volt’s bill to designate “howdy” as Arizona’s official state greeting:

This is a great idea. Confirmation when I found a postcard my mom sent to my dad in 1956!

My mom passed in 2023 and I’ve lived Arizona since 2006. Seems like Arizona has used “howdy” for a long, long time.
