Arizona Gives nonprofits impact Glendale community as well

Efforts reach wide range of residents around city

Companion Pets In Crisis (CPiC) sums up its mission pretty clearly.

“Help(ing) others especially on their worst day,” their call to volunteerism specifies.

The Phoenix-based nonprofit was founded on the principal that no one should ever have to surrender their pet due to circumstances out of their control. President and founder Lisa Martin was a volunteer with the Phoenix Fire Department Crisis Response Team, and she quickly realized there was no outlet for pets left behind after a house fire, death, homelessness, or personal emergency with no alternative but to surrender pets to a kill shelter.
