Arizona Gives Day’s final results showed the effort raised about $3.7 million for about 729 nonprofits involved in this year’s effort, a roughly 14% decline form the previous year.
Officials with the effort, presented by AZ Impact for Good, said though there was a decline that continued a downward trend in giving, they were pleased there was somewhat steady giving. Last year the effort raised $4.3 million.
“This is an important boost for Arizona nonprofits and a sign of the generosity of Arizona residents during uneven economic times,” said Michael Morefield, director of marketing and communications for AZ Impact for Good, in a press release. “Despite declines in charitable giving nationwide, this year’s event will have real impact for Arizona residents.”
