Arizona Fall League baseball is soon to return to the Peoria Sports Complex.

The Peoria Javelinas return to Complex, located at 16101 N. 83rd Ave., with an opportunity for top prospects to accelerate their growth and compete with, and against, other rising Major League Baseball stars. Each Major League team sends seven top prospects to participate in the AFL every year.

League games begin Monday, Oct. 2.

The Javelinas are made up of prospects from the Cleveland Guardians, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Rays.

The first game in Peoria is Thursday, Oct. 5 when the Mesa Solar Sox (Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees) visit the West Valley for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.

Nearly 60% of all AFL players make a Major League roster, and the Arizona Fall League has hosted 321 All-Stars, 19 MVPs, six Cy Young Award winners, seven World Series MVPs, 99 Silver Sluggers, 88 Gold Glovers, and 30 Rookies of the Year.

This year, the MLB All-Star Game in Seattle featured 36 AFL alums, including names like Pete Alonso, Yordan Alvarez, Nolan Arenado, and All-Star MVP Elias Diaz.

Peoria Sports Complex has had a number of notable alumni including AFL Hall of Famers Mark Texeira and Todd Helton, and current MLB stars Max Fried, Trent Grisham, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Julio Rodriguez.

Arizona Fall League general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for teens and seniors, and free for kids 12 and under.
