Arizona faces looming physician, nurse shortage amid ‘silver tsunami'

Arizona is looking at a shortage of thousands of nurses and doctors by 2030, which is why nursing organizations, universities and hospitals are implementing programs aimed at bridging the deficit.

According to a report from Vivian Health, a national health care hiring marketplace, Arizona has the nation’s highest projected demand for nurses, from 58,480 in 2020 to 81,460 in 2030, an increase of 39%.
