Arizona continues to report nursing staff shortage

Hospitals and medical schools in the valley are reporting shortages of nursing staff in the medical field

Nearly three years after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical profession are still facing major work-related issues resulting in a decline in nurses in Arizona and the U.S..

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the nursing shortage was projected to reach more than 1 million nationally by the end of 2022.

The bureau found of nurses in the U.S., more then 50% are over the age of 55 and one in five health care workers quit their jobs during the pandemic.
