Arizona college students flock to ASU for Charlie Kirk’s vigil

Thousands packed in Desert Financial Arena Monday night in “Make America Great Again” hats and white shirts that read “I am Charlie” to listen to Turning Point USA employees and supporters speak about Charlie Kirk’s impact.

Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and Turning Point Action, was shot and killed Sept. 10 at Utah Valley University while speaking to hundreds of students. Kirk had a large following of young conservatives and campaigned for Donald Trump in 2024 with local politicians—some even crediting him for Trump’s second term success.
