Arizona churches welcome in-person worshippers; officials warn of risks

With restrictions imposed earlier this year in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak easing, some churches have started offering in-person services again.

As many congregants long for a return to normalcy, on-campus fellowship poses challenges and some lasting changes.

Tom Quaid, an associate pastor at Vineyard Church North Phoenix, said church leaders responded immediately to Gov. Doug Ducey’s call to shelter in place as the COVID-19 outbreak first began to heat up in Arizona.
