Arizona roads can be a tough place to drive, but the Fourth of July can be particularly deadly, according to a new report.

Website Moneygeek.com compiled information on the deadliest states for driving during the July 4 holiday period, and Arizona ranked as the 17th worst.

The report looked at data from 2020 to 2024, and included the percentage of accidents that were caused by driving under the influence.

Arizona among the more deadly states on the roads for Fourth of July

Arizona roads can be a tough place to drive, but the Fourth of July can be particularly deadly, according to a new report.

Website Moneygeek.com compiled information on the deadliest states for driving during the July 4 holiday period, and Arizona ranked as the 17th worst.

The report looked at data from 2020 to 2024, and included the percentage of accidents that were caused by driving under the influence.

For Arizona, there were 67 total deaths with 44% of them the result of drinking and driving, according to the report.

Nationally, there were 2,724 people killed during the Fourth of July holiday during the five-year period. It found the deadliest hours went between 9 p.m. and midnight, when 23% of holiday deaths occurred.
