Applying for free and reduced lunch at CUSD schools

Universal free school meals ended after two years due to USDA regulations, which means families who require this service need to file an application to receive free or reduced meals, according to the CUSD website. Applications are available at myschoolapps.com.

“The Free and Reduced Meals program provides countless benefits to families who qualify,” Director of CUSD Nutrition Jenny Bracamonte said in a CUSD news release. “I would encourage any family to see if they qualify. It’s never been easier to apply – it’s online, quick, and confidential.”

If students had an approved meal application on file last year, Tuesday, August 30 is the last day that last year’s meal status will carry over. So, families must re-apply to continue receiving free and reduced meals after the deadline.
