Apache Junction seeking grants for parks upgrades

Apache Junction is seeking federal and state grants to assist with updates to Superstition Shadows Park and Silly Mountain Park, from new restrooms to fixing tennis/pickleball courts, an city commission was told recently.

Between $800,000 and $900,000 is needed for projects at Superstition Shadows Park, 1091 W. Southern Ave., which could be completed over several years, said Liz Langenbach, director of the Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department.
