Apache Junction purchasing $2.8M in police, parks, public works vehicles

More than 30 new and replacement fleet vehicles costing $2.8 million are being purchased for the city of Apache Junction.

The Apache Junction City Council on Aug. 1 voted unanimously to approve a consent agenda including the $2,819,084 purchase for 35 vehicles and two motorcycles using San Tan Ford and Freightliner cooperative contracts with the state of Arizona, and lighting and equipment outfitted through a city of Tempe cooperative contract.

The money is to come from the general and highway user revenue funds.
