The oath of office and seating of newly elected Apache Junction Mayor Chip Wilson and Councilmembers Tess Nesser, Braden Biggs and Kelly Gremmel are planned Jan. 5.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.

Apache Junction mayor, 3 council members to take oaths of office Jan. 5

The oath of office and seating of newly elected Apache Junction Mayor Chip Wilson and Councilmembers Tess Nesser, Braden Biggs and Kelly Gremmel are planned Jan. 5.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.

In other business, there will be:

  • a presentation of plaques to outgoing City Council members Robin Barker, Jeff Struble and Mayor Jeff Serdy for their years of service and any related comments from council members and staff members.
  • consideration of nomination and selection of vice mayor as required by city code.
  • discussion and designation of an acting mayor. The council is to designate one of its members to be acting mayor during the absence of both the mayor and vice mayor. The person will be able to conduct meetings and act in the event of emergency situations.
  • consideration of designation of City Council check signatories. City checks require the signature of a council member in addition to that of the city clerk.
