Apache Junction may purchase $2.8M in police, parks, public works vehicles

More than 30 new and replacement fleet vehicles costing $2.8 million may be purchased for the city of Apache Junction.

The Apache Junction City Council on July 18 discussed the $2,819,084 purchase for 35 vehicles and two motorcycles using San Tan Ford and Freightliner cooperative contracts with the state of Arizona, and lighting and equipment outfitted through a city of Tempe cooperative contract.

No decision was made. City Manager Bryant Powell said it will be brought back before the city council in a couple weeks.
