Apache Junction dog-park artist selection outline discussed

A draft call to artists and request for qualifications for Apache Junction’s dog park lists a project budget of $50,000.

It seeks professional artists or artist teams for the design, fabrication and installation of a permanent public artwork for the 2.6-acre off-leash dog park under construction at the Pinal County complex, 575 N. Idaho Road, according to a presentation made at the Aug. 9 Apache Junction Public Art Commission meeting.

“I think the intent of this is as a kind of a draft or a template. We’re using the dog park as kind of an example but it’s not intended to be released at this point for the request for qualifications, is that correct?” Chair Ryan E. Buys said during a discussion on the request for qualifications.
