The third annual Swing Into Spring Casino & Cocktail Social benefiting The Singletons was held Feb. 25 at a private estate in Troon North, raising over $120,000 through ticket sales, sponsorship and auction bids.
The Singletons is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of single-parent families battling cancer.
Proceeds from Swing Into Spring will help fund monthly programs and support for current and newly onboarded Singletons families, according to a press release. These programs provide meal kits, vital household supplies, utility stipends and gas cards. The nonprofit also provides monthly programming and activities to bring families together for additional connection and support.
Bobby D., World Champion Fundraiser Auctioneer, led the live auction. The Roaring 20s themed fundraising event also featured Uptown Big Band performing both jazz and current hit music, professional casino gaming, multiple celebrity chefs, current and former professional athletes, Grammy-Award winning musicians and art for auction by artist Leila Parnian.
Signature culinary creations, craft cocktails, wine and additional exclusive tastings were by Jason Santos (Hell’s Kitchen), The Pioche Food Group (James Beard semi-finalist) and other celebrity chefs.
Ticket holders had the opportunity to win raffle prizes and bid on a variety of items and experiences at the live auction. Experiences for Platinum VIP ticket holders included early access, celebrity meet and greets, photos and a private dinner by Chef J Perry hosted in the guest’s home.
Special performances and support by Steven Cade and other Grammy Award nominees took place throughout the evening. Celebrity hair stylist Elsa and makeup artist Mykel Renner were in attendance to provide professional styling as a VIP experience for Singletons moms.
“The Singletons have seen a 50% increase in new families requesting services in the last year,” Jody Boyd, founder and executive director of The Singletons, said in the release. “Support from the community in terms of monetary donations and sponsorships will help our organization continue to care for these parents and children in need and allow us to quickly onboard those who are waiting.”
The Singletons partner with Enterprise, Scottsdale Maserati and Sunflower Bank as official sponsors. The nonprofit is also appreciative of the support of Careers through Culinary Arts Program.
