Annual Holiday Classic raises funds for Make-A-Wish Arizona, St. Joseph the Worker

Sunshine, golf with celebrities, stunning entertainment and live auctions all to support a great cause, what more could one want?

On Dec. 1-2, 2021, High Point Events in partnership with 21st Century HealthCare, Avnet and a host of other sponsors produced the annual Holiday Classic golf event at Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley.

The special event featured an exclusive group of celebrities, professional athletes and entertainers in a two-day special experience benefiting Make-A-Wish Arizona and St. Joseph the Worker.

Due to the support from sponsors and the community, the charitable event raised a record-breaking $185,000 for the two highly respected non-profit organizations.

“The objective of the event from its inception has been to create a special experience for our sponsors while raising money for local charities,” said Warren Vickers, CEO of High Point Events and founder of The Holiday Classic.

The Holiday Classic is one of the most anticipated events of the year and features over 25 celebrity guests such as Marcus Allen, Roger Clemens, Vinnie Del Negro, Dan Majerle, and Ozzie Smith to name a few. The live auction was hosted by MLB Hall of Famer, Johnny Bench.

“High Point’s goal of this tournament from day one has always been about the charitable investment in the community,” said Steve Snyder, CEO of 21st Century HealthCare. “We’re proud to be the title sponsor and support Make-a-Wish Arizona and St. Joseph the Worker, two organizations who are making such a positive difference in the lives of thousands of individuals. We are excited to be able to provide additional resources to further their missions and are thankful for High Point, our staff, sponsors and partners for making this year’s event a huge success.”

“We are very appreciative of the continued support of 21st Century HealthCare and all the sponsors, especially now,” said Brent Downs, CEO of St. Joseph the Worker. “The underserved individuals in our community will benefit from the generosity of all those who care enough to make a difference in the lives of others.”

“With a goal to grant 400 wishes this fiscal year, generous gifts like the more than $100,000 raised by the Holiday Classic help us fulfill our mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses,” said Elizabeth R. Reich, president and chief executive officer with Make-A-Wish Arizona. “We are excited to use this donation to spark joy in the lives of Arizona children who are currently waiting for their wishes.”

The next Holiday Classic event will take place Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2022, at the same location, Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley.
