Anna Weiland, 87Sun City resident Anna Weiland died peacefully March 16, 2008.Lovingly known as "Oma" to her friends and family, she was a spunky woman with a warm demeanor who befriended people wherever she went. Her Hungarian and German cooking - including cucumber salad, stuffed cabbage and cream cheese cookies - will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Fewer things brought greater joy to her than visits from her grandchildren Bryson, Tatiana, Ethan, Sierra and Jadon. She passed along her heritage by teaching each grandchild to say, "Ich liebe dich von herzen," which means, "I love you with all my heart."She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa, and a sister, Kathe. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Philipp; twin children, Elfriede and Philipp.Services were conducted March 24 at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The 11th Hour Companion Programs, Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
