Ann M. Smith

Ann M. Smith, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 20th, 2018, after a brief illness.Ann was born on March 28, 1926 in Manhattan, NY to Karl Weller and Selma Meinel. She was raised in Yonkers, NY, where she met the love of her life Douglas Smith. When she was 19, she married Douglas in California, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army Air Corp.After years working and raising a family in New York, Ann retired with her husband to Sun City.Keen to help the community and work with God, Ann volunteered as a teacher on Saturdays at the Pan de Vida Church for 19 years from 1986-2005. She also taught arthritis exercise at the American Lutheran Church for many years after that.Ann enjoyed painting, travel, gardening, was an avid reader, and a connoisseur of all things silver screen.Ann will be greatly missed. Ann is survived by her loving daughter JoAnn and son Donald, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by her husband Douglas and her brother Carl.A memorial service will be held at the American Lutheran Church, Sun City on January 31, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.
