The Superstition Fire and Medical District paid out more than $100,000 on 83 claims and out-of-court settlements during the past six years, according to a review of its records.
The claims and settlements range from accidents involving district vehicles to professional liability from a hematoma on a patient’s arm, a payment to an employee on a claim of discrimination because of an educational requirement for promotions, district officials responding to a victim in distress breaking down a door to a home and realizing it was the wrong residence, and replacing windshields.
