Ambulance, truck purchases approved for Superstition Fire and Medical District

A Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community grant and federal COVID-19 funds will pay for the majority of the cost of a new ambulance and battalion-chief truck to be purchased by the Superstition Fire and Medical District.

The SFMD board of directors on Jan. 18 voted unanimously in a consent agenda with other items to approve:

  • $429,223.75 for a 2023 Horton 623 ambulance, with $411,285 paid through American Rescue Plan Act funding and the remaining $17,938.75 from SFMD; and
  • $125,532.78 for a 2023 Ford F250 from San Tan Ford, including an outfit package, two Motorola 8500 radios, Cradlepoint 1700 in-vehicle router and a truck bed shell, all paid for by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community grant.
