Amazon expands in Tempe, beefing up strong tech sector

Will add 550 jobs in 2022

Amazon is expanding in Tempe and bringing more than 500 jobs along for the ride.

The technology giant announced on Dec. 21 it would create more than 550 corporate and tech jobs in the East Valley city during the next few years, bolstering its growing Phoenix Tech Hub. The new roles will be on teams such as consumer retail, web services, software development, project management and business analysis, among others, according to a news release.

Amazon currently has 400 open positions in Tempe that are ready and waiting to be filled.
