Alyce Tyler Tinthoff, 95Alyce Tyler Tinthoff, a former resident of Sun City West for 25 years, died May 18, 2007 in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was born in West Branch, Iowa, and married Fred Tinthoff in Chicago, Ill., where she worked as a legal secretary and attended the Art Institute of Chicago. She had a lifelong love of world history and she and Fred traveled throughout France, Japan, Egypt, India and Africa. She moved to Sun City West after Fred's death in 1979 and continued to travel, visiting China twice, spending time on the coast of Spain and returning to Europe and Japan. She and her friend, Chuck Holstrom, spent many happy summers in his home on Georgetown Lake in Montana. Survivors include her daughters, Trish Mayberry (Bill), Linda Landau (Jim), Terry Jones (Irving); five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, one brother and long-time friend, Tatsuo Okada.
