Sun City - Altene Mae (Kirkpatrick) Klein, 83, born Sept. 19, 1927, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011. She leaves a husband, Arthur; and five children, Sheryl Marshall of DeKalb, Ill., Greg Klein of Peoria, Janice Gorrell of Mansfield, Texas, Joellyn Wright of Kona, Hawaii, and Dana Dudley of Tempe; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Altene was born in Macomb, Ill. and spent her early childhood in Macomb. Following her graduation from Moody Bible Institute in 1947, she was married to Arthur Klein living a brief time in Chicago where she worked as a clerk and secretary with Universal Oil Company. They next moved to Kenosha, Wis. where her husband worked a short time with Kenosha Auto Transport. They moved to Racine, Wis. residing there for 11 years until moving to Phoenix. After her husband's retirement as a Court Reporter in Superior Court in Phoenix they moved to Sun City, in 1992. Altene was an avid reader. She and her husband joined the The Brides Organization and attended Bethany Bible Church in Phoenix before moving to Sun City attending Grace Bible Church. Realizing her physical condition, she prayed, "Lord Jesus, take me home in my sleep." As a strong believer in the Lord Jesus, He granted her wish where she now rests.
