All stopped up? Don't open your window

Opening the windows or heading out to the ballpark or on a hike might be tempting this time of year, but it might come with a runny nose and a headache.

Mesquite, ragweed and Bermuda grass — among other allergens in the region — all can have a negative effect on Valley residents.

“(Residents) have a risk of allergies all year,” said Devin Minior, chief medical officer at Banner Health’ ambulatory division. “Different plants grow at different times.”
