The Arizona Department of Transportation has lifted lane restrictions on northbound State Route 51 near Camelback Road following a seven-week project that replaced about 700 feet of damaged pavement and repaired the freeway’s drainage system, state transportation officials said.
Crews completed the work over the weekend by removing work zone barricades and restriping the roadway to restore the flow of traffic on one HOV lane and three general purpose lanes, according to ADOT.
The lane restrictions began July 27, requiring northbound SR 51 to be narrowed to two lanes as crews repaired a damaged stormwater pipe and poured new concrete to replace the old, uneven surface.
