American Leadership Academy has not nailed down the opening day for its first K-12 campus in the West Valley, ALA-West Foothills.
But most other aspects of the large charter school district’s new projects in Waddell are on pace for when classes start — some time in August — at 175th and Olive avenues, a mile south of Surprise.
The site will have separate K-6 and 7-12 high school buildings. Its capacity is more than 1,900 students. Melody Hudson, director of marketing and public relations for ALA’s parent company Charter One, stated the high school is built to serve more than 1,000 students, and the elementary is built to serve more than 800 students.
