Al Green to make rare Arizona appearance at jazz festival

Arizona Jazz Festival returns to Glendale in November

Tickets are on sale for the rescheduled Arizona Jazz Fest with a rare chance to see the legendary Al Green live in Arizona.

The annual event, going strong for more than a decade, had been slated for March. Organizers posted to social media that “circumstances beyond our control” necessitated the new dates, which will now be Friday through Sunday, Nov. 7-9, at the West Valley Event Complex, less than a couple miles from Westgate, in Glendale.

Green has been nominated for 21 Grammys and has won 11. He’s also a member of the Rock and Roll, Gospel Music Association, and the Songwriters halls of fame. He’ll be among the festival’s Sunday headliners, along with Babyface, who has produced 26 No. 1 R&B hits and has won 13 Grammys himself.
