Spending $85,000 to renovate Apache Junction Unified School District’s governing board room and district office and $61,062.42 to upgrade the board room’s sound system were approved recently.
The AJUSD Governing Board decided in separate votes July 13 to approve the two items. The funds will come from Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds.
The district received $5,111,069.81 from an ESSER fund developed from the federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act signed into law on Dec. 27.
