The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended its free meals for kids program through Dec. 31. All children ages 1-18 may eat free breakfast and lunch.
The Apache Junction Unified School District will provide free meals to students on days that they are in school. Online learners may continue to order food via Google.doc each week, according to a Facebook post @AJUSD43.
Community children are also welcome to receive AJUSD’s curbside meals. The curbside service will provide children with five days of breakfasts and lunches each week. Children who attend school each day do not qualify for curbside meals because they will be fed each day at school.
Distribution will only be at Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the following days: Dec. 16.
Cars are to enter the drive east of the football field and drive around to the Davis Field sign where they will meet the food service staff at the kitchen gate. Please wear a mask for everyone’s safety, the post states.
