AJ fire facilities used as Telegraph Fire command center

The U.S. Forest Service paid $1,000 a day to the Superstition Fire and Medical District to use its training facility as a Telegraph Fire incident command center.

The Telegraph Fire in the Globe Ranger District, initially reported around 1:30 p.m. June 4 south of Superior, was human caused and is under investigation.

On Saturday, June 5, the USDA/Forest Service began operating its incident command center from the SFMD Regional Training Center at 3700 E. 16th Ave. in Apache Junction.
