Agua Fria High School District governing board will consider a measure to raise property taxes through a district additional assistance override request to help pay for inflating costs.
According to the May 3 district meeting, a district additional assistance budget override generates additional funds for capital needs within a district’s operating budget. Stifel, the company commissioned to advise the district on its finances, said the override is limited to 10% of its revenue control limit.
According to Stifel, 10% is $6.6 million annually, which would generate $46 million total by the seventh year.
