Agua Fria district expedites in-person return to comply with governor’s order

Litchfield, Avondale districts were already set for March 15 return

Agua Fria Union High School District officials planned to welcome students back to campus full time March 22, but quickly pivoted this week to comply with Gov. Doug Ducey’s March 3 executive order requiring schools to fully reopen March 15.

Litchfield and Avondale elementary districts were already on track to transition their students to full-time in-person learning March 15 so they weren’t affected by the executive order, but it came as a surprise to Agua Fria officials.

All three districts’ offices will be closed March 8 to 12 for spring break.
