After brother’s death, Gilbert man explores ‘Art of Grieving’

Preston Zeller was a 31-year-old multitalented tech worker and artist Feb. 5, 2019, when his work and his life got a new focus.

That is the day Preston’s brother, Colin, died unexpectedly from a drug overdose.

The shattering experience left Zeller looking for ways to deal with his grief. That led to a two-layered project: 365 consecutive days of painting how he was feeling, and creating a documentary, “The Art of Grieving,” that captured that project but also examined how people deal with grief.
