When Paradise Valley Police officers see their April paychecks they may be surprised. But it’s no April Fools joke — department pay is increasing significantly.

Paradise Valley Police officers will be among town employees receiving a salary bump on April 1, an expeditious decision after a decade of stagnant pay.

During a March 24, Paradise Valley Town Council meeting, Police Chief Peter Wingert and Town Manager Jill Keimach, along with a hired consultant, asked for $112,500 to give the police force pay increases, effective Friday, April 1.
