Arizona Fire & Medical uses grant for new tool in Sun City West

Community education in SCW

Having the right training can make a difference during an emergency.

Arizona Fire & Medical Authority, 18818 N. Spanish Garden Drive, personnel use community education to prepare the Sun City West community for emergency scenarios. The latest training tool arrived at the administration building by way of a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant. According to Foundation officials, the mission is to impact the lifesaving capabilities and the lives of local heroes and their communities.

Eric Kriwer, AFMA deputy chief, said the LION Bullseye Digital Fire Extinguisher Training System is an opportunity to teach people in the community how to use a fire extinguisher. This system can be used inside and doesn’t have to be recharged with propane. Previously, AFMA officials had six fire extinguishers that have to be recharged after approximately 30 uses.
