AFMA receives re-accreditation

Top service continues for SCW

Arizona Fire & Medical Authority officials are actively looking for ways to improve quality of service for Sun City West.

AFMA officials decided in 2010 to participate in the accreditation process to obtain a critical assessment of the programs and procedures by the industry-leading Center for Fire Accreditation International. According to AFMA Division Chief Kan Nixon, this accreditation is the gold standard in the fire and emergency medical service industry.

CFAI helps fire and emergency service agencies achieve excellence through self-assessment and accreditation to provide continuous quality improvement and enhance service delivery to the community. According to the Jan. 28 AFMA press release, the process is voluntary and provides an agency with an improvement model to assess their service delivery and performance internally and then works with a team of peers from other agencies to evaluate their completed self-assessment.
