Advocate calls on Arizona governor to rev up electric vehicle incentives

One national advocacy group this week called on state leaders to pave the way for more electric vehicles on Arizona’s roads.

The nonprofit consumer watchdog Consumer Reports made its appeal in a letter to Gov. Doug Ducey and key Arizona legislators, citing strong market interest among American motorists and touting the benefits of EV technology, both for individual cost savings and as a potential boon to the economy.

“From innovative vehicle technology to recharging infrastructure at homes, stores, and workplaces, investments in the future of transportation can deliver new jobs and economic activity, lifting up both consumers and businesses,” according to the letter from Consumer Reports policy analyst Alfred Artis, which was delivered to the governor along with an EV technology fact sheet.
