Arizona is targeting $1.5 million in federal funding for workforce development in the Phoenix area toward the advanced manufacturing industry.
The Phoenix area is getting a $1.5 million share of a $5 million grant to be awarded to the state.
During the Jan. 8 Phoenix Business and Workforce Development Board meeting, the board’s executive director LaSetta Hogans said the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the agency that applied for the grant, chose advanced manufacturing “given all the activity that’s happening in our area.”
