Opinions sought by ADOT on north-south corridor plans in Pinal County

In-person meetings in Apache Junction and San Tan Valley and a virtual meeting in English and Spanish were held in September on the environmental impact statement and design concept report for a 400-foot-wide north-south corridor freeway alignment in Pinal County.

The meetings were held to receive public input on a study by Arizona Department of Transportation of an area from U.S. Highway 60 Superstition Freeway in Apache Junction to Arizona Farms Road and making up approximately 20 miles of the full 50-mile north-south corridor. The section crosses Queen Creek, the Central Arizona Project canal and the Magma Arizona Railroad, according to the project website at northsouth-segment1.com.

Comments may be made on the plans through Sept. 27 by taking a survey at the website.
