ADOT announces spring Phoenix-area closures, restrictions

Posted

Crews plan to close the eastbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at 33nd Street at the end of March and plan to keep it closed until early June, state transportation officials said.

The closure is to allow for continued construction on the Broadway Curve improvement project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Baseline Road is also scheduled to be closed in mid-April and remain closed though mid-June, allowing for crews to work on an eastbound collector-distributor road.

In addition, as of March 11, ADOT reminds drivers they can only make a right turn from southbound 52nd Street onto Broadway Road. Drivers should use eastbound 14th Street to southbound Priest Drive to access eastbound Broadway Road.

The restriction is expected to last into June.

The sidewalk next to southbound 52nd Street is also closed and will remain so into the summer, officials said, advising pedestrians to use the pathway next to northbound 52nd Street as an alternative.
