PHOENIX – Ten finalists have been chosen for the Arizona Department of Transportation’s safety message contest.
The Arizona Department of Transportation received nearly 3,500 entries in its ninth contest, which asks residents to come up with ideas to appear on overhead freeway message signs statewide.

PHOENIX – Ten finalists have been chosen for the Arizona Department of Transportation’s safety message contest.

CAMP IN THE WOODS/NOT THE LEFT LANE
The two messages that receive the most votes through Monday, Oct. 27, will be displayed.
Statewide crash data show 1,228 people were killed in crashes on Arizona’s roads in 2024. Last year, 347 people died in alcohol-related crashes and speeding was a factor cited in crashes that led to 417 fatalities.
