Adjusting Peoria’s code to conserve water

Council approves changes in Peoria’s landscaping rules

In this new era of water reductions, Peoria is doing a number of things to help reduce water use within the city.

Most recently that has included changing the city’s landscaping code to lower the city’s water demand.

The new code has been adjusted to include new planting ratios and design standards to be more water wise for each new development or redevelopment project while maintaining an inviting and environmentally beneficial aesthetic throughout the city, according to documents.
