ACLU report highlights school surveillance systems used in Valley districts

An American Civil Liberties Union research report examining educational technology surveillance products used in K-12 schools highlighted two systems currently in use at some Valley school districts.

In the Oct. 3 report, the ACLU highlighted GoGuardian and Avigilon among several other products, as edtech products with liberty and privacy concerns.

Agua Fria Union High School District was not mentioned in the ACLU report, but the student handbook and board documents outline usage of the two systems. They are not alone as other districts around the Valley have reported using at least the GoGuardian system.
