Access to child care, affordable housing keys to growing Scottsdale’s economy

Affordable child care and housing may be the keys to unlocking Scottsdale’s economic future, according a panel of experts who spoke on the subject at the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce’s Forward Scottsdale presentation Feb 17.

That’s because these things will ensure an empowered workforce ready to do their jobs in the future, according to the panel.

First Things First Chief Marketing and Strategic Initiatives Officer Jacki Grainger said 72% of families with young children have both parents working, and that places a premium on the need for quality child care.
