Abrazo Arrowhead in Glendale marks 35 years

When Abrazo Arrowhead Campus opened on Oct. 17, 1988, the growing Arrowhead Ranch area in Glendale had a hospital to call its own, the Arrowhead Community Hospital, an 84-bed facility serving the Northwest Valley.

Celebrating its 35-year anniversary next week, Abrazo Arrowhead Campus is now a 217-bed teaching hospital with nearly 1,100 employees, providing advanced medical care including cardiovascular, orthopedics, spine, bariatric surgery, obstetrics, emergency care and additional services.

More than 3,500 babies are delivered each year on the Glendale campus, located at 18701 N. 67th Ave. The hospital will soon complete a multimillion-dollar expansion of its neonatal care unit for high-risk pregnancies and preterm babies.
