PHOENIX — Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital on Thursday announced the largest expansion in its history, increasing inpatient and procedural capacity to help more Arizonans access life-saving heart and vascular care.

Demand for cardiovascular care is increasing as Arizona continues to experience population growth. The facility expansion will position Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital to care for more patients requiring cardiac, vascular and critical care services as well as support continued participation in cutting-edge clinical research and innovation.

“When patients face a serious heart condition, timely access to specialized care can make all the difference,” stated Kimberly Blaha, president and chief administrative officer of Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital, in a news release. “This expansion allows us to care for more patients across Arizona and strengthens our role as a regional destination for nationally recognized heart and vascular care.”

Patients from communities across Arizona depend on Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital for specialized cardiovascular care such as cardiogenic shock and complex structural heart disease. The hospital provides comprehensive cardiovascular services including access to open-heart surgery, complex coronary interventions, vascular care, electrophysiology and more.

“As one of Arizona’s only dedicated heart hospitals, we continue to shape cardiovascular care,” stated Abrazo Health CEO Brian Elisco in the news release. “Abrazo Health is proud to be investing in the next chapter of that legacy.”

The inpatient and procedural capacity expansion is the latest phase of multi-year investments in Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital.
