Dr. Abraham (Al) J. Cohen, 90, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away on November 9, 2022 after a short illness. Beloved father, husband, grandfather, and partner, his love for family was paramount. He was born in Chelsea, MA on March 9, 1932. Al enjoyed a robust reserve career in the U.S. Army for over 30 years. He retired with the rank of Colonel. He earned his BS in teaching from Salem State, His MEdn from Boston University, and his Doctorate in Education from Columbia University. He remained active with the Masons organization at the Sun City Lodge, and continued exploring his Jewish faith as both an active member and congregant of Temple Beth Shalom and Beth Emeth Congregation.
Al is survived by his children, David (Armando), and Jennifer (Scott), in addition to his partner of 15 years, Mary Gill Savoren. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jade, Grace, and Simon. Al was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Isabel, and his son, Jonathan.
