A vote now looms on controversial transfer station in north Peoria area

Republic Services wants to put a recycling, transfer facility near El Mirage Road and Loop 303

Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing for a controversial recycling and waste transfer station in the north Peoria area, 9:30 a.m., Jan. 27.

The commission will hear the case for the WestWing Recycling and Transfer Facility, proposed near El Mirage Road and Loop 303.

The applicant is waste management company Republic Services.
