OPINION — Here's a step we can all take to help prevent gun violence. I am urging our Arizona lawmakers to oppose SB-1068. If passed and signed, it will force Arizona public universities and colleges to allow concealed carry guns on campus for anyone who has that permit.
I am a parent, grandparent and friend of students and adults at ASU. In addition, I have been personally affected by gun violence among young people in my family and my friends' families. This bill is an extremely dangerous move, especially since teens and young adults' brains are still under development and emotions can run high.
